Populist, Pernicious and Perilous: Germany’s Growing Hate Problem
According to Der Spiegel, “Germany has a hate problem – and it’s growing.” While the recent influx of refugees has seen a great outpouring of support among many German citizens, a backlash has also been noticeable.
Germany these days, it seems, is a place where people feel entirely uninhibited about expressing their hatred and xenophobia. Images from around the country show a level of brutalization that hasn’t been witnessed for some time, and attest to primitive instincts long believed to have been relegated to the past in Germany.
